Mindo is world renowed for the variety of its bird species. Casa de Vista Alta is along the trail that most birding guides take their clients. Without even leaving the premises you can expect to cross a few off your life list however a guided tour will present opportunities to see and photo Toucans, Hummingbirds, Quetzals and many others up close and in their natural habitats.

Mindo is home to a variety of stunning butterfly species. A visit to the local butterfly farm is a delightful way to spend an afternoon.
You'll see and learn about every stage of their astonishing life cycle.

Wet and Wild


White water and white knuckles!

For the adventurous Mindo offers an experience of abseiling down crystal clear spring waterfalls or a gentler float down the river in giant tyres.

Views of the Forest


A short walk up the hill from Casa de Vista Alta you will find the entrance to the waterfall sanctuary. A cable car takes you over a valley before you arrive at the beginning of trails that can occupy your time for anything between 1 and 5 hours. Sprinkled along the route are waterfalls of various sizes and ferocities.
Take swimsuit, sunblock and be prepared to bath in water so clean you'll want to fill your bottles with it.

Wheeled Rides


For freedom to explore and a good workout you can rent Bikes. Go and explore the surrounds of Mindo alone or in a group. or a faster but more guided tour you can rent Quads or buggies for one, two of even four persons to go on a fast paced sightseeing tour.

A Good Catch


Relax with the sun on your back, a cold drink and wait for a bite.

You can rent all the equipment and be taken to various spots to enjoy your favourite relaxing pastime.

Wind in Your Hair


Mindo Zip line courses can be from 3 to 10 lines, each up to a half kilometre long.

The complete course is a hair raising experience that allows a glimpse of the cloud forest from a unique birds eye perspective.
